Hemp and Industrial hemp : what’s the difference?

Some of the primary differences between industrial hemp and CBD hemp are related to how the plants are being actually grown. Because industrial hemp is grown for fibers and CBD hemp is grown for flowers, the plants differs in their cultivation techniques and the overall growth patterns of the plant.

Industrial can be seen grown as much taller with singular stalks than the CBD/ hemp which is bushy with multiple stalks.

On one hand, industrial hemp is grown with methods and equipment taken from commercial farming as hemp stalks are extremely hearty. On another hand, because CBD flowers are quite delicate, CBD hemp plants must be grown in more specific environments.

HEMP in INDIA

When Canada and parts of the US legalized cannabis a few years ago, it set off a frenzy in the startup ecosystem, each trying to outdo the other with its innovative offerings, unique selling proposition, and creative use of the plant. From cannabis bakeries and cafes to cannabis-infused chocolates and liqueurs, and organic cannabis growers, a lot of companies have made bank in the years following the legalization.

India , the full cannabis plant is not legal but part use is legal. The startups building in India played a big role and still doing to get more legalization for its cultivation. Uttarakhand in recent times has attracted many startups and organization to come over and educate the farmers and help them grow cannabis in their farms. A lot of farmers have adopted its cultivation and many are coming and joining. With ease in licensing and support from the Uttarakhand the framers are now cultivating hemp in their farms and earning a living.

there are some requirements before one can go for cultivation of hemp in Uttarakhand

one need to have land of his/her own or on lease

then a character certificate from concerned DM

And then they may apply for the license. But the farmers are only allowed to grow cannabis having lover THC level than 0.3
